Objectives
- Move a well loved local boutique online with a shop that matches the warmth of the physical store
- Sell products directly through WooCommerce with clear pricing, categories and secure checkout
- Build trust with parents shopping for babies and young children through clean presentation and reassurance messaging
- Encourage first purchases with an introductory discount and email sign up
- Rank for children's clothing and gift searches across Yorkshire and UK wide shoppers
Challenges
- Competing against large, established children's retailers with far bigger marketing budgets
- Parents buying for babies and small children want reassurance on sizing, quality and returns before buying from an unfamiliar online shop
- A boutique built on in person, hand picked curation needed that same feel online, not just a generic product grid
- No existing online store meant building product categories, checkout and delivery logic from scratch
- Seasonal and gift driven buying, such as christenings and new babies, means visitors often arrive with urgent, specific needs
Solution
We built a WooCommerce store on WordPress and Elementor with clear category navigation for Baby, Boys, Girls, Gifts and Personalised, trust badges for delivery, returns and secure checkout placed close to the point of purchase, and homepage storytelling that carries the boutique’s in store warmth online.
What We Did/Process
- Mapped the product catalogue into clear, shopper friendly categories
- Built a WooCommerce store with secure checkout and free delivery threshold messaging
- Wrote an Our Story section carrying the boutique's Knaresborough roots and hand picked curation into the online experience
- Added trust and reassurance elements close to the point of purchase
- Set up an introductory discount code and newsletter sign up to convert first time visitors
Style:
Website Prototype
Soft, image led homepage with product grid and lifestyle photography. Insert homepage screenshot.
Button Styles:
Rounded, pastel toned Shop Now buttons that feel gentle and age appropriate for a children's brand
Brand Colours:
A soft, warm pastel palette reflecting a nursery friendly, boutique feel rather than a clinical retail look
Typography:
A friendly, slightly rounded heading font paired with a clean body font for easy reading of product details
UI Elements:
Category icon bar (Free Delivery, Secure Checkout, Easy Returns, Open 7 Days), product grid with brand tags, and a discount banner

Customer Feedback
Read Verified Client Reviews Before You Decide
“Going online felt risky, I didn’t want us to turn into just another faceless shop selling baby clothes. That’s what happens with these big template sites. But parents message us saying the website feels like our actual shop, warm, hand picked, not mass produced. That was the whole point, and they got it right.”

Why This Project Is a Good Example of Our Approach
This project shows how we translate an in person brand into an online store without it feeling generic. It demonstrates user focused category design for a first time shopper, an SEO first approach to children’s retail search terms, and problem solving around trust, since reassurance is everything when parents are buying for a child they have never met us to serve.
